Parking: ample off-street parking is available, beside and behind our Bakery, located at 30 High Street in Norwalk, CT  06851.
Clothing: wear rubber-soled shoes, anything you don't mind getting flour on =)
For all participants:
A loaf of Wave Hill Breads' fresh bread is included for each participant or adult/child pair, per workshop.

Learn techniques for baking with sourdough leaven, as well as how to control the degree of tartness you prefer in your breads. This class will cover care and feeding of sourdough starters, as well as shaping, scoring, and steam baking of traditional sourdough batards. You will create your own starter to take home at the conclusion of the class. Participants will have hands-on training in the shaping and baking of our Wild Yeast Sourdough batters, a bread made from naturally occurring yeast and bacteria, found on the grain itself. There is no added yeast, milk, oils, and no sweeteners used in this method… as natural as you can get!

Come with your loved one and learn to make the most tender and flaky croissants in Connecticut! We use real butter and the freshest of ingredients. Learn all about laminating this demanding dough. You and your loved one will also learn the best methods for handling croissant pastry at home. Experience the heart thumping joy of tasting croissants freshly made from our ovens. There is nothing quite like it. A perfect experience to share with your nearest and dearest.

Everything kids (and parent or guardian) need to have to have a blast decorating cookies. Kids will work with cookie dough to shape their own cookie creations. The basics of baking and baking safety in a professional setting will be covered. Kids will decorate their own cookies and leave the class with cookies to share. Class includes snacks, soft drinks, and a warm from the oven focaccia pizza to finish.

Wave Hill Breads’ most famous Monkey Breads are filled with our handmade butter croissant puff pastry, cut into bite-size pieces, dredged in cinnamon and brown sugar, then baked to perfection. They are absolutely delicious and a consistent sell out at our farmers markets. Children and parents will receive hands-on guidance in the creation of our famous “Monkey Bread” - a treat easily baked at home with the entire family! While the monkey breads are proofing, a special Bakers Pizza, will be demonstrated with fresh local ingredients for kids and parents to share and enjoy!
